Nia, a low-impact
fusion fitness experience, combines conscious
movement from the healing
arts (yoga, Feldenkrais, Alexander), martial arts (T'ai Chi, Tae
Kwon Do, Aikido), and dance
arts (Modern, Jazz, & Duncan Dance) to balance and strengthen body, mind,
spirit, and emotions. Practiced barefoot to invigorating, inspiring, and
soothing music, Nia movements are based on moving the body's way to prevent
and heal injury, maintain cardiovascular health, and support the body's
flow of energy.
Nia is for
every body regardless of age, gender, or fitness level.

Mindfulness
with Paula Huffman,

“Mindfulness is about being fully
awake in our lives. It is about perceiving the exquisite vividness of each
moment. We feel more alive. We also gain immediate access to our own
powerful inner resources for insight, transformation, and healing.”
Participants
will learn or practice mind/body awareness, meditation practices,
stretching, and focusing on breath as a foundation for stress management
techniques.
